MISTER LEFT HER BECAUSE SHE GOT FAT AND “UGLY” AFTER GIVING CHILDREN — 3 YEARS LATER, THEY SAW HER AGAIN AT A GALA, BUT HE DIDN’T RECOGNIZE HER BECAUSE SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WAS WITH A WORLD-CLASS BILLIONAIRE
Clarissa used to be beautiful and slim. But after she gave birth to her first child with Jerome, her body changed. She gained weight, got stretch marks, and was always haggard because of staying up all night to raise the child.
Instead of supporting her, Jerome was disgusted with her.
“What’s that, Clarissa!” Jerome shouted while getting dressed. “You’re so fat! You’re like a whale! I’m losing my appetite for you. I’m embarrassed to take you on my walks!”
“Jerome, I just gave birth,” Clarissa cried while holding the baby. “I need your help, not insults.”
“I don’t want to,” Jerome said mercilessly. “I’m leaving. I’m going with Roxy. She’s sexy. She takes care of herself. Not like you, you loser.”
Jerome left Clarissa and their child in a small apartment. No support, no calls, Jerome disappeared like a bubble to be with another woman.
Clarissa’s heart was broken. She looked at herself in the mirror and cried. But when she saw her child, she wiped away her tears.
“I’ll get up,” she promised. “You’ll be surprised the next time we meet.”
Three years passed.
Jerome and his girlfriend Roxy attended an Exclusive Charity Ball in Makati. Jerome wanted to find investors because his business was losing money.
“Jerome, look at that,” Roxy pointed out. “It looks like a celebrity has arrived. There are so many photographers.”
Jerome turned to the grand staircase.
The entire ballroom fell silent. A woman wearing an Emerald Green Gown full of Swarovski crystals came down. Her body was perfectly shaped—sexy, tall, and full of confidence. Her face was so beautiful, like a Goddess.
All the men were speechless. All the women were envious.
“Who is she?” Jerome asked, unable to take his eyes off her. “She’s so beautiful. She looks familiar.”
As the woman approached, Jerome recognized her eyes. His eyes widened. His jaw dropped.
“C-Clarissa?” Jerome whispered.
Impossible! The woman he had called a “whale” before was now more beautiful than the actresses!
Jerome left Roxy and approached Clarissa.
“Clarissa!” Jerome called, blocking her path. “It’s you!”
Clarissa stopped. She looked Jerome from head to toe. Her gaze was cold, emotionless.
“Excuse me?” Clarissa said. “Do I know you?”
“It’s me! Jerome! Your husband!” Jerome proudly said, holding Clarissa’s arm. “You’re so sexy! You’re so beautiful again! Clarissa, I miss you so much. I know you’re mad, but we can start again. For our child.”
Jerome saw that Clarissa was “high value” again, so he wanted to take it back.
Clarissa pushed Jerome’s hand away.
“Ex-husband,” Clarissa corrected. “And don’t use our child. You haven’t shown any signs of affection for three years. Now that you’ve seen that I’m fine, you want to come back? You’re so stubborn.”
“Clarissa, I just made a mistake! Roxy, that’s all! You’re the one I really love!”
Jerome was about to hug Clarissa when a tall man suddenly stopped him.
The man grabbed Jerome’s hand and twisted it slightly.
“Ouch! Who are you?!” Jerome shouted.
The man stepped forward. He was a foreigner, very handsome, wearing a tuxedo, and obviously powerful.
Jerome froze. He knew this man. He was on the cover of Forbes Magazine last month.
Ethan Sterling. A British Billionaire and owner of the largest Tech Company in the world.
“Is this man bothering you, Sweetheart?” Ethan asked Clarissa, in a soft voice.
Clarissa smiled at Ethan—a smile full of love that she had never given Jerome before.
“Yes, Love,” Clarissa replied. “He’s just… someone from my past. A mistake I already corrected.”
“M-Mr. Sterling?” Jerome stammered. “W-are you with Clarissa?”
Ethan grabbed Clarissa’s waist and kissed her forehead.
“Yes. Clarissa is not just my partner. She is my Fiancée,” Ethan announced. “And she is also the new Vice President of my company in Asia. So show some respect to my future wife, or I will destroy your little business by tomorrow morning.”
Jerome’s knees shook. The billionaire’s fiancée? VP of the company?
“Jerome,” Clarissa said. “When you left me, I thought my world was over. But that was the beginning of my rise. I went to the gym, I studied, I worked. And I met the man who loved me when I was broken.”
Clarissa looked at Ethan.
“Ethan? He loved me even though I still had stretch marks. He loved me and my child completely. Unlike you who only looks at the outside.”
Roxy came over and pulled Jerome. “Jerome! You’re embarrassing! Let’s go!”
But Jerome didn’t move. He just watched Clarissa walk away, holding her billionaire fiancé’s hand, towards the VIP area where they were seated.
Jerome was left in the middle of the crowd—full of regret, regret, and shame. He realized that the woman he had ignored because of “fat” was the most precious treasure he had ever let go of.
